Many women in Turkey have never gone on vacation, celebrated their birthdays or even gone to a hairdresser, according to a recent poll.
Pollster Adil Gür of A&G polling company interviewed ۳,۲۵۲ women in ۴۲ provinces across Turkey on the subject of gender-based violence, ntvmsnbc.com reported on Friday.
The poll released some interesting findings on the social habits of women in Turkey.
According to the poll, ۳۷.۵ percent of women have never eaten at a restaurant. More than half of women have never celebrated their birthday or wedding anniversary. Twenty-seven percent of women in Turkey have never gone to a hairdresser, and another ۳۱ percent wear no makeup. Forty-six percent of women in Turkey have never gone on vacation.
Ten out of every ۱۰۰ women in Turkey over the age of ۱۸ are illiterate. Approximately ۳۰ percent of women surveyed graduated from high school, and only ۹ percent have a college degree.
Twenty out of every ۱۰۰ women over the age of ۴۴ are illiterate.
Of the women surveyed, ۶۱.۸ percent are housewives and ۱۰.۳ percent are students.
