Le Figaro – Georgia is Post Modern Face of Caucasus

French newspaper Le Figaro published an article about Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili's recent address to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France.

In his speech to the European Parliament on Tuesday, Georgia's President Saakashvili took unilateral responsibility to refuse to using force and offered dialogue without precedent conditions.

‘Initiative of Saakashvili, who was educated in France, married to the citizen of Netherlands and surrounded by young ministers education in London, Heidelberg and Harvard attracts more attention, as he is resisting administrative, small-minded, xenophobic and corrupt heritage that was practically untouched from the moment of leaving the soviet union.

Supported by the youth, women and the minority, representing the main driving force of the gap with the old regime, the current team stakes on public freedom (Freedom of press first of all) and transparency against old police system.

In Addition, this team fully supports private property for the construction of magnificent hotels and cultural centers in Tbilisi and Black Sea Coast. Georgian liberal team is too responsible to let the deficit of the budget exceed ۶%,' Le Figaro reports.

‘The traveler can't help wondering at the politeness and civilization he is received in Georgia even if he is tired of being searched by the Russian occupants on the territory of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, under control of the Kremlin after singing ceasefire agreement in ۲۰۰۸.

Even Mikheil Saakashvili's Rose Revolution could not fully defeat the Russian pressure after the ruling of the nationalist Gamsakhurdia (he was removed by Russians in November ۱۹۹۳) and then former head of the Georgian communist party Eduard Shevardnandze. The newly-pledged president had to deal with the mightiest resistance, he nearly left office in November ۲۰۰۷ and later was august conflict in ۲۰۰۸', Le Figaro reports.

Also according to Le Figaro,Patriotic and pro-western tendency or the ‘Postmodern synthesis' in Georgia may be the example for the countries that are ready to fight for freedom.
