President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in the Iranian capital on Monday on an official visit, during which dozens of MoUs and cooperation documents are scheduled to be signed.
Nazarbayev, who is heading a high-ranking delegation, was welcomed by his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani here in Tehran.
He is visiting the country to strengthen and expand the bilateral, regional, and international ties between Tehran and Astana.
Promoting the level of mutual cooperation in political, economic, trade, and cultural fields is also among the objectives of the Kazakh president’s visit to Tehran, made at the invitation of President Rouhani.
Nine cooperation documents between state ministries and organizations, 37 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and contracts between the private sectors, and two MoUs between the two countries’ central and commercial banks are planned to be signed.
The 37 MoUs and contracts between Iranian and Kazakh private sectors will cover various fields including agriculture, extraterritorial cultivation of agricultural products, industry, mining, investment, and energy.
The Iranian president visited Astana on September 8-9, 2014 at the head of a high-ranking politico-economic delegation and held talks with the country’s senior officials including Nazarbayev.
The two presidents inked a number of agreements to boost cooperation in various fields, particularly in the economic sphere.
