16 Jul 2016 - 10:18

Iran’s foreign minister has expressed his concern on the developments in Turkey in his last tweet.
“Stability, democracy & safety of Turkish people are paramount. Unity & prudence are imperative,” tweeted Foreign Minister Zarif.
Iran’s Secretary of National Security Council Ali Shamkhani also stated “Iran is watching the developments in Turkey carefully; instability is against the security of the Turkish nation,” adding, “all shared ground and air borders are under control.”
Javad Zarif further hailed people's role in changing the course of events in Turkey tweeting that "Turkish people's brave defense of democracy and their elected government proves that coups have no place in our region and are doomed to fail."
Military units have attempted an uprising in Turkey. The Turkish military said in a statement it has fully seized control of the country and that the rule of law must remain a priority. The statement, read on a TV channel, went on to say that the military aims to "reinstall the constitutional order, democracy, human rights and freedoms," and "to ensure that the rule of law once again reigns in the country, for the law and order to be reinstated," Press TV reported.
